Welcome to the newest section on maycontainemu.com! Rejoice! I am new to animation, but I am excited to document my progress here. I am adding various exercises as I practice this medium, and hopefully I can learn enough skills to animate a short by the end of this year!
The first animation I ever made was this racoon drinking coffee that I made in sixth grade. I am so happy I was able to find this!
Since then, I have created various miscellaneous animations for school projects over the years. The map animation comes from a report about nutria migration. The Pinocchio came from---actually I do not remember.
At one point, I animated this moving text as an idea for the loading screen for my iGEM team. I ended up making the dancing brain instead because it was simpler for the software team to incorporate. It adds some nice whimsy to the wiki!
I had been practicing some walk cycles and basic converations for a few months, but I made my first extended animation for an AP Bio project. I only had three days to make this, so I had to rely on heads flopping around rather than actual lip-sync. However, I think this project proved that I can feasibly make a longer animation. For my next project, I am hoping to implement actual character lip sync and movements of arms and legs during conversations.
