Future Problem Solving California 

2026 T-Shirt

This year, California FPS themed the State Bowl around National Parks and Smokey the Bear. I created two versions of the main logo, and we ended up using the version with curved text for the T-shirt. The shirts showed up with a much brighter green than we expected, but I think the design still stands out nicely!

2025 T-Shirt

California FPS wanted a Wicked theme this year, which proved to be a fun challenge. For the back of the shirt, I created a fun play on the famous Wicked poster from the Broadway musical---but with an FPS twist! On the front, I tried to mesh the text together in a satisfying way. I always liked when words naturally minimized the kerning of their letters (like the V and A in VAN), and I tried to manipulate the structure of the letters to maximize this effect. 

2024 T-Shirt

California FPS celebrated its fortieth anniversary this year, so State Bowl had a "Vintage" theme. 

2023 T-Shirt

California FPS wanted a "Puzzle" theme for state bowl. For the front of the shirt, I created a simple California insignia. On the back, a friendly bear hugged a California puzzle, symbolizing the Californian FPS-participating schools coming back together after COVID. Looking back, this design looks so simple, and I can really see how my digital art skills have developed over the last few years. 

Life of Laughter

I created the T-shirts and logo for Life of Laughter, an improvisational comedy troupe that performs at senior living homes. In the future, I would like to avoid relying so heavily on contour lines in a logo (which ideally should be more simple), but I think my design still created a warm and cohesive brand for our group.

Canyon Crest ComedySportz

I created a logo and new advertising materials for my school's improvisational comedy team. As parting gifts for seniors, I always make them "Improv Cards" inspired by classic baseball card designs, so they can remember their time on the team.
